This Week at Calvin 12-30-21

Calvin Church, 326 7 th St SE, welcomes all who are looking for a church family to worship, learn and
fellowship with us. Worship begins at 10:00 AM. This Sunday we continue celebrating Christ coming to
the world as a baby (as in the 12 Days of Christmas). Pastor Brian Hofman will be on vacation this week.
Rev. Ross Hoekstra will lead worship at Calvin. His message is based on Mark 12: 13-17 “Who is Jesus?”
The carols chosen to sing are: “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”, “On Christmas Night”, and “One
Small Child”, and “Go Tell it on the Mountain”. “Ancient Words” will be sung during the Offertory.
Busy Bags for little children can be found in the foyer. Be sure to make use of them for your kids.
The Afternoon Bible Study will resume meeting on Wednesday, January 5 at 1:30 PM. Lesson 20 is titled
“Depression or Despair” to be led by Lyn Bulthuis. Prayer time, coffee and refreshments conclude our
gathering. Anyone that would like to join this group is more than welcomed.
A library has been set up in the basement. You are welcome to check out any of the titles and DVDs you
find there.
The church is open every morning from 10 to noon. Books or CDs of past services can be picked up at
this time. All are welcomed to use the sanctuary as a place for prayer for our church, community, and
country. If you have any prayer requests and concerns you like included in the bulletin, please direct
them to our church secretary at 712-546-4767.
There will be no Sunday School classes this week. All Classes will begin again on January 9 th .
