This Week at Calvin 12/14/22

Sunday, December 18th, Calvin CRC welcomes all to a time that has been set aside for the public
worship of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Worship begins at 10 AM at 326 7t St SE, Le Mars.
Before worship, all are invited to study God’s Word at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Classes for all
ages is provided.
This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. As we prepare to celebrate communion, we ask God for the
proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament.
As is tradition, on communion Sundays we urge our members to contribute to the Christian Needs
Ministry. The December Needs include juice, pancake mix, syrup, ketchup chili beans, canned tomatoes,
rice, shampoo, bar soap, toilet paper. Place items in the blue barrel in narthex.
Pastor Brian Hofman continues his Advent sermons on 2nd Thessalonians. This Sunday his text is from 2
Thessalonians 3: 6 – 18. The 4th Advent Candle of Peace will be lit. The songs of praise will be: “Angels
from the Realms of Glory”, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, “You Are Holy (Prince of Peace)”, and “Sing
to the King.” The Song of Response is “What Feast of Love” just prior to communion. Miriam Hector
will provide the prelude and the accompaniment of hymns on piano and organ.
The Afternoon Women’s Bible Study Group plans to meet December 21st to fill bags of goodies for the
children.
A Dramatic Christmas Eve will be held at 5:00 PM. The service was written to help children understand
how the whole narrative of Scripture points to Christ. We culminate with the beautiful candle lighting
around the sanctuary.
Christmas Morning will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Please plan to join us with your family.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
