This Week at Calvin 12-1-21

Calvin Church, 326 7th St SE, welcomes all who are looking for a church family to worhip, learn and fellowship with us. Worship begins at 10:00 AM with the Second Sunday of Advent. The lighting of the Advent Candles centers around the passage: “For Unto Us A Child is Born”. The second candle is “Mighty God”. For Advent Pastor Brian Hofman has chosen the Psalms of lament, songs and prayers that cry out for God to take action and help but also surprisingly express trust in God while waiting. This week’s text is Psalm 44. Song selections include: “Mighty to Save”, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”, Psalm 44 sung “O God, We Have Heard”, and “Power of Your Love”.
At 9:00 AM, Sunday, there are Education Classes for all ages. Teachers are preparing valuable lessons for us all. Come and learn together.
The church is beautifully decorated and lit with greenery, lights, flowers and banners. On the east side of the church you will see the nativity scene set and lit up for all to anticipate Jesus’ coming.

Next week Wednesday, December 8th at 6:30 PM, the Evening Ladies have Bible Study. They are meeting in the church basement and welcome anyone to join them. to study God’s Word. The lessons are independent, so you can come to the time that works for you.
