This Week at Calvin 1/19/23

Sunday, December 18th, Calvin CRC welcomes all to a time that has been set aside for the public
worship of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Worship begins at 10 AM at 326 7t St SE, Le Mars.
Before worship, all are invited to study God’s Word at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Classes for all
ages is provided. This Sunday, the Adult class meets for prayer for the needs of our church and
community. All are welcomed to join in prayer.
This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. As we prepare to celebrate communion, we ask God for the
proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament.
As is tradition, on communion Sundays we urge our members to contribute to the Christian Needs
Ministry. The January Needs include juice, pancake mix, syrup, ketchup chili beans, canned tomatoes,
rice, shampoo, bar soap, toilet paper. Place items in the blue barrel in narthex.
A Special Offering is designated for Hope Haven.
Pastor Brian Hofman is using Mattheew 5: 1-12 (The Beatitudes) as his text this Sunday. The All For Him
praise team leads the songs of praise. They will be: “Here I Am to Worship”, “What a Beautiful Name”,
“Blest Are They”, and “Into My Heart.” During communion the praise team will sing “I Am the Bread”
and “The King of Love”.
The Evening Women’s Bible Study Group plans to meet January 25st at 6:30 in the church.
Calvin is leading worship services at the local nursing homes. This week Wednesday they will go to
PrimeLiving and Accura Health Care. We love worshiping with our friends there, singing favorite hymns,
praying together, and hearing Pastor Brian bring the Word and blessing on all in attendance.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
