Happy New Year from Calvin CRC! We begin this year with Epiphany when God incarnate as Jesus Christ
revealed his divinity to the Magi who visited young Jesus.
We welcome Pastor Brian Hofman back from vacation. This month he will preach through the seven
signs (miracles) in the book of John. This Sunday his text is John 2:1-12 when he turns water into wine.
Sunday School classes resume at 9:00 AM. The classes will be able to spend $1,500.00 for the children
of World Renew Christmas.
Worship begins at 10 AM on Sunday at 326 7 th St SE. The prelude will be “Twinkle, Twinkle”, “Do You
See What I See?”, and “Star of the East.” Hymns of praise will include: “Beautiful Savior”, “As with
Gladness Men of Old”, “We Three Kings”, “Our God”, and “Arise, Shine for Your Light is Come.”
The January Special Offering is for the Le Mars Backpack program. The Backpack food program provides
nutritious, non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food to children to ensure they get enough food on
weekends and holidays to avoid hunger when they can’t depend on school meals.
After the offertory, children are welcomed up front to visit with Pastor for an introduction to the
morning’s text. They will then be dismissed to Children’s Worship led by Kaitlyn Visscher.
This coming week the Evening Women’s Bible Study will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Laura Grigsby
leads this group in their study.
We welcome Lifewise back this week to meet on Wednesday and Friday afternoons in our facilities.
The Chuukese worship at 2:00 PM on Sundays.
The church office is open Monday through Friday from 10 – noon. If you have concerns for the prayer
chain, please contact the church secretary at 712-546-4767.
All are welcomed to worship, study, pray, and fellowship with us. Begin this year with Him.
