This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church is open for worship at 10:00 AM on Sundays. We welcome all friends and visitors to this time that has been set aside for the public worship of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit! We have been praying for you, and hope you will experience the joy of God's life changing love as you worship.

Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada Delapp is preaching a sermon series on the Holy Spirit. This week his theme is The Holy Spirit binds us together with past, present, and future saints ("one church"). This Gospel lesson is from John 17: 1 - 26. The Epistle is 1 Corinthians 12: 1-27.
Miriam Hector will lead all into a spirit of worship with some ten minutes of prelude. She will play arrangements of "Brethren We Have Met To Worship", "Holy Spirit", and "Jesus Loves the Little Children." The congregation will join in singing "God is Here", "Brethren, We Have Met to Worship", "Tell Your Children", and "In Christ There is No East or West." Following the benediction we will join in the chorus "The Bond of Love."

Instead of having the offering plates passed down the rows of the congregation, we will have a basket as you leave to put your tithes and offerings. If you are not comfortable coming to church yet, you are encouraged to either drop them off at the church office between 10 and noon on Mondays through Friday. If you would like to mail them in, the church's address is 326 7th St SE, Le Mars, IA,

Ordinarily we have communion on the third Sunday of the month. We are still using a spiritual communion and prayer and fasting from the actual taking of communion. As is Calvin's tradition, we like to give to a needy cause on this communion day. We encourage all to find extra soup, rice, boxed potatoes, pasta sauce and noodles, carrots, peas, pork and bans, fruit, toilet paper, tooth paste, shampoo to be place in the blue barrel in the narthex. Dave Hector will deliver these donated items on Tuesday to the Christian Needs Center. The Christian Needs Center is available with curbside delivery. Little clothes donations are being accepted. Open hours are Monday through Wednesday 9 - 3.

Calvin's services are now on youtube with online streaming at 10:00 AM with the prelude beginning at 9:50 AM. If you'd rather check out our website at http://www.calvincrclemars.org, the sermon will be available on Monday. Otherwise CDs are available with the recorded service, bulletin announcements and lyrics of the songs available at the church between 10 - 12 Monday through Friday.

Pastor DeLapp has been posting interesting meditations on Facebook titled "Bite size bits with the bearded Pastor. Check them out.
