This Week at Calvin

Calvin Church welcomes all who are looking for a church home to visit and make yourself at home. We've been praying for you, and hope you will experience the joy of God's life changing love. Calvin's building is located at 326 7th St SE, Le Mars. Hopefully you see our members showing God's love to our neighbor through caring relationships. It is so heartwarming to hear of all the little things we accidentally hear that they do for others.

Sunday School Classes from Pre-School age through Adults are available beginning at 9:00 AM in the church basement. If anyone needs a lift to the lower level, the church has just recently installed a chairlift going up and down the stairs by the church organ. It is very easy to operate. Classes for Pre-School are taught by Mrs. Sharon Zomermaand. Cass Martin, a theology major at Dordt University, is leading the young people's Sunday School on the 7 Deadly Sins. Adult Sunday School is studying the Old Testament prophets and led by Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp.
Worship begins at 10:15 AM so there is ample time to visit and greet each other after Sunday School.

This Sunday Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp will continue his series of sermons on the prophet Hosea 6: 4 - 11. What is God to do with the unrepentant Israel? The Psalm 146, a Hallelujah Psalm, will be recited responsively between the congregation and the Pastor. The Gospel according to Luke, Chapter 16: 19 - 31, is read by Pastor DeLapp from the center of the congregation signifying that Jesus came to earth to be amongst His people. The refrain "Lord, To Whom Shall We Go" will be sung before and following the Gospel reading. Other popular contemporary songs like "Speak, O Lord", "Ancient Words", and "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord" will be sung throughout the service. We will be sent forth with the singing of "To God Be the Glory". Inez Hoogeveen is accompanying this Sunday's service. We thank her for offering her musical talents once again.

The Greeters this Sunday are Dave Hector & Carol Wolfswinkel, Coffee Servers are Pete & Mary Attema, Usher is Mike Van Otterloo, Nursery supervised by Glenda Habben, Sound System and Power Point run by Jeremy Kamp.

Following the morning worship a Congregational Meeting will be held for the selection of Officers of Elder and Deacon. One Elder will be selected from nominees Dave Hector and Jerry Reed One Deacon will be selected from nominees Pete Attema and Vern Fedders.

This week's Bible Study will be Wednesday at 1:30 PM. They will continue from where they ended last time on Page 65 from Walking with God in the Desert. Again help is available for those wishing to go to the basement from the lift chair. Please do not let this hold you back from attending this discussion. A delicious dessert will be served.

Calvin Christian Reformed Church has a website where you can listen to past services at calvincrclemars.org.
