Calvin Christian Reformed Church is "A Caring, Church, Reaching Community". We welcome you to join us in public worship on Sunday, July 28th, at 10:15 AM. This is the time that has been set aside for worshipping our God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
This Sunday we welcome Jason Lief to the pulpit. Mr. Lief is an Associate Professor of Youth Ministry and Christian Education at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. He will use Amos 2: 6 - 3: 8 for his text from the Old Testament. His sermon title is "The Politics of Jesus and the Justice of God. The focus will be on moving beyond religion to faith as a way of life. Moving toward loving God and loving neighbor.
Miriam Hector will lead all into a spirit of worship with a prelude "Here I Am, Lord" on the grand piano. The All For Him band will lead and accompany the singing of "All Are Welcome", "Lead On, O King Eternal", "Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love", "My Soul Cries Out With a Joyful Shout" and "We Receive Your Blessing". The offertory will be based on Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Band members include Jim Viet on the Bass Guitar, Ron De Kok and Bob Hughes on acoustic guitars, Dave Davelaar on drums, Miriam Hector on Keys. Singers will be Lyn Bulthuis, Mary Fedders, Steve Ver Mulm and Patrick Visscher.
This Sunday Anna Mae Koerselman and Steve Ver Mulm will serve as greeters, Fred and Glenda Vollink as Coffee Servers, Dave Hector as Usher, Troy and Elisa Hughes as Nursery, Jeremy Kamp running the Sound System and Power Point.
This Sunday Calvin Church will conduct services at Prime Living at 1:30 and Plymouth Manor at 2:15. You are welcomed to join us in these outreach opportunities.
The Bible League Christmas in July will be held on Monday, July 29 at 1:30 PM at the Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley, Iowa. You are asked to bring an item such as baked goods, crafts, plants, etc. to place on the silent auction tables. You will be given time to view the items and place your bids. Sheri Ten Napel and Katie Haan will share what they experience in their trip with Bible League International to Nicaragu
