This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church at 326 7th St SE extends to the whole community a special night. On Sunday night starting at 5:00 PM All For Him, Calvin's Band will sing a few of their favorite Contemporary Christian songs. Not To Us by Chris Tomlin, The River by Jordan Feliz , Every Giant Will Fall by Rend Collective, Come People of the Risen King by Keith and Kristin Getty and Who You Say I Am by Hillsong. People of Praise from St John's Lutheran will sing Holy Spirit by Francessa Battestelli, All Are Welcome by Dakota Roads, O Come to The Altar by Elevation, Hallelujah for the Cross by Newsboys. Jill Miller and band will sing My Lighthouse by Rend Collective, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) by Chris Tomlin, Settle My Heart and Choose to Believe by Jill Miller and Amazing Love. For the final song the singers from all 3 bands will join Jill Miller and her band in the singing of Good Good Father by Pat Barrett. An offering for Hope Haven International Wheelchair Ministry will be taken. Following the casual, informal time of worship all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for sandwiches, chips, fruit salad and ice cream for a donation to Hope Haven as well.
In the afternoon Pastor DeLapp will be leading worship at Prime Living and Plymouth Manor.
Sunday Morning all begins with Education Classes for all ages at 9:00 AM. Coffee is ready and prepared teachers to teach anyone desiring a growing relationship with Christ.
At 10:15 AM Sunday, the worship service begins with a prelude by Miriam Hector on the grand piano. The All For Him Band will lead the singing of Come, People of the Risen King, Come Thou Fount (I Will Sing) and The River. The Old Testament Lesson will be read by Will Ver Mulm from Jeremiah 17: 5 - 10. Kathy Ver Mulm will read 1 Corinthians 15: 12 - 20. Psalm 1 will be read responsively as the Call To Worship. The Gospel Lesson will be found in Luke 6: 17 - 26 read by Pastor DeLapp.
Communion will be celebrated this Sunday. We ask God for the proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament that we may repent sincerely of all sin and that by it we shall be spiritually revived, and strengthen in faith, hope, and love through Christ our Lord.
As is tradition on Communion Sundays, Calvin members are encouraged to contribute to the Christian Needs Center. Some of their needs include pancake mix, pancake syrup, cereal and granola bars. These items can be placed in the blue barrel in the narthex. Dave Hector will deliver them the next week.
The Greeters this week are Troy & Elisa Hughes Coffee Servers - Pete and Mary Attema, Usher - Dave Hector, Nursery - Karin DeLapp, Sound System - Steve Ver Mulm and PowerPoint - Jeremy Kamp.
Next Wednesday Afternoon the Women's Bible Study meets at 1:30 PM. They are studying "What is the Holy Spirit's Work?" by Stonecroft Bible Studies. Come and join this excellent study, fellowship and dessert.
