This Week at Calvin
Cavin Church at the intersection of 4th Ave SE and 7th St SE invites you to join them in public worship every Sunday at 10:15 am. This is the time that has been set aside for the public worship of God: Father, Soon and Holy Spirit! We always welcome visitors and longtime members to experience the joy of God's life changing love with us.
This Sunday, October 14, our Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada De Lapp will be leading us in the meditation on Mark 10: 13 - 16 when Jesus blesses the children. Many of the hymns will center around that theme. They are: "Children of the Heavenly Father", "Go, My Children With My Blessing", and "Ten Thousand Reasons". Miriam Hector is playing the grand piano and has chosen an arrangement of "Jesus Loves Me" for the prelude. The offertory will be a medley of children's songs like "Deep and Wide", "If You're Happy and You Know It", "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy", and "I Am A Christian". The All For Him band will accompany and lead the singing of the hymns and song of praise "Arise" by Paul Baloche. The Ten Commandments will be read as the Assurance of Pardon and the Apostle's Creed recited following the sermon.
Troy and Ellis Hughes are the greeters this Sunday as well as Gary and Glenda Habben the coffee servers, John Klocksiem the usher, Karin De Lapp in the nursery, Steve Ver Mulm the Sound System and Jeremy Kamp on Power Point.
Sunday School classes for all ages begins at 9:00 am. Pastor De Lapp teaches the youth the Heidelburg Catechism and the Adult Sunday School class is studying the video series "How to read the Bible for all it's worth."
Please join us, the coffee is always prepared by some faithful members.
