This Week at Calvin

All Things Are Possible With God is the theme for this coming Sunday, October 7th at Calvin Christian Reformed Church.  Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada De Lapp will be using Mark 10: 17 - 31 as the basis for this theme.  Patrick Visscher will solo with the All For Him band in the singing of "Every Giant Will Fall" by Rend Collective.   The chorus' lyrics are "Ev'ry giant will fall, the mountains will move; ev'ry chain of the past you've broken in two.  Over fear, over lies, we're singing the truth that, nothing is impossible with You (God)."  Other hymns will be Psalm 8 "Lord, Our Lord Your Glorious Name", "Beautiful Savior", the chorus "Only Believe" and "By Faith" from contemporary writers and composer Keith and Kristin Getty.  Other scriptures to be read will be Genesis 2: 18 - 24 by Mary Reed and Hebrews 1: 1 - 4 read by Troy Hughes.  Miriam Hector will be providing the prelude and other accompaniment this week.

A reminder that every Sunday morning there are Education Classes for all ages beginning at 9:00 AM in the basement.  Pastor De Lapp is teaching the youth in the Heidelburg Catechism and the Adults are in a video series titled "How To Read the Bible For All It's Worth."  Coffee is always ready when you come so please join us in these meaningful opportunities to promote a growing relationship with Christ.

Members of Calvin serving in other ways are the Greeters: Tom & Joyce De Koster, Coffee Servers: Ina Bjorge & June Vos; Usher: Dave Hector; Nursery:  Cindy De Vos; Sound System and Powerpoint: Jeremy Kamp.

During this week the Women's Bible Study is on Wednesday evening at 6:30 led by Laura Grisgby.  We are studying a DVD series "You Are Free."  We will be on lesson 2 this week.  Bring your prayer concerns along with you for all to keep on their prayer list.
